Essential Tips for T500

Post by TJK71 »

Hi guys, I hope you're all well.

I'm still around I promise, just not online as much as I'd like to be.

As some of you may recall, I've had the Airstill Pro for over a year now and I love it. It gives me everything I need and more.

However, I have just had the bargain of a lifetime and bought a T500 along with a 50litre Keg set up and assorted paraphernalia. The keg will be going into storage until I have mastered the T500! I'm going to watch a thousand Youtube tutorials of course, because... well, it's me!

Obviously the Airstill is a plug and play kinda thing, so I'm asking for your essential tips and tricks to ensure I don't screw up. There's a water flow controller, a parrot and other bit and bobs too. I am extremely limited in space, so may need to run this in the kitchen until I can get my brew room set up sorted...which won't be for quite some time unfortunately.

Anyway, I'm excited and nervous in equal measure. All hints, tips, tricks and essentials (especially for small spaces) are very much welcomed :D
Thank you so much, in advance!
Big loves xxx

Well done girl. As you may be aware my 25/30litre still is a Still Spirits Super Reflux Still, it predates the T500. After 50+ washes through it can I only now achieve 90%+Abv spirit consistently without messing around.

The advice I would give you is, ....Relax, practice and make shit loads of Alcohol. Period/Done/over/that's all.

If you haven't got a glass in your hand, try, try, try again.

Anything specific pm me.

Ooh, and when practicing, trying to improve, only alter one aspect/ingredient/parameter at a time. Or you learn FA.
And take notes, keep a diary.

The water regulator is important, as someone running a tap or flushing the Looe will change the pressure and hence the flow. You can make one from bits off Amazon etc. Small pump, and a ball valve. There isn't much in it.

Make a gash brew, and run it, play with the settings, and remember it's recyclable so dilute and run again until you have sussed out the basic settings.

Something like this for the ball valve:

Above all have fun.

It's a F boiler and condenser, hardly Trident. That should take 5 minutes.

Thank you so much. I think I have a water regulator and voltage thing in the paraphernalia. I'll grab a photo of everything asap. I also have a bubble plate. I'm so excited, but it will be a while before I get chance to play with it. Festival season is just starting for me 8-) xxx
