On the one hand, I have no clue what you lot are talking about, but on the other Echo79 is likely to hate me when he reads this.

Today I am picking up 5 x 5ft x 3ft framed thingummies that are Belfast and Dublin Aerial photos from years gone by and 3 x prints of drawings of provinces/Caledonia etc, for £100 the lot, which I figure is a nice discount on the frames?

Yes, just unexpected as I didn't add any sugar (apart from the initial sugar+molasses) It's certainly drinkable!

Then all is good! :)

Some of my recent experiments have been too sweet for me.
Personal taste and all that. :(
Although, someone always finds them acceptable. :)

The supermarkets have "tuned" our taste buds with more and more sugar. Simple con "buy mine it's sweeter"

Once you start making your own it becomes apparent and often unpalatable.

It is quite interesting. Hubby's go-to tipple has always been Morgan's spiced but he's already finding that the non-sweetened home brew is preferable :D
And that's on stuff that's barely a month old so hopefully it should improve!
I'll need to up my production rate though. 1 wee airstill takes quite a while to make a decent quantity, especially if I'm wanting a bit of gin too!

I tried to count the posts where mash doesn't mention freezers, but after half an hour of checking, I quit at nil

When I say I've got a keg, I mean that's all it is at the mo. Not even checked if it's watertight.
Friend's partner has promised to teach us to solder but still need to get all the bits! Time seems to be the limiting factor unfortunately.

Mash, the plan to get a freezer in the shed has run aground due to power issues :( that was my original plan!

Wowser! the last few/many posts took a couple of read throughs to understand.
I don't think soldering will help with your keg Jen, your keg will need welding.
And @ Curmudgeon, You do know that mash is CEO of Beko, the Turkish company that sold the most fridge/freezers in the UK this year?
Maybe I made that up.
But he is doing his bit for global ccoling!

Hehe. It is of course inaccurate to say there are no posts of mine that mention freezers. Back in 1972......

It's ok, I was referring to the copper still head parts :) I think we've got a friendly welder to chat to about the actual keg but hopefully it will just be attaching ferrules etc.

Don't want to call @Easydrinker out, but I'm going to call him out out :P

Soldering the keg works well.

I've soldered more SS to SS than CU to CU and have not have a failed joint as of yet.
Plain old lead free solder works great, the trick is to get a good flux.

In saying that I would not do a butt joint on a SS pipe to a SS ferrule if it's going to hold weight.
but for soldering a few fittings on the keg it works a treat.

I'm far from an expert on it but will try to help if help is needed.

All these things are soldered and solid as anything

Well blow me - caught me out too. I would have said weld only if asked.

Everyday is a school day. Hmm - that makes for some more opportunities.

That is me well and truly told!
I will don the sack cloth, annoint myself with ashes, and may be seen walking into the sunset, administering a little self flagellation, whilst repeating "I know nothing"
