Stirling is where I shop every week.
That gin is not bad, and it adds to coversation to say that it is there.
Glad you had a good day out,- did you get home with a a full complement of kids?
Robert.

We did
We had a wee chat with the girl in the McQueen's shop too. Turns out she is also a home distiller but we had to cut it short as we were late for the tour!
(Should note that it was not me that brought the topic up. We mentioned trying flavours more as a bathtub gin which is a bit more legal than actually distilling

)

Closet distillers everywhere!
I call my airstill the "breadmaker", as years ago a nosey neighbour stood at my kitchen door, with it running only 6 feet away.
" I love the smell of your fresh baked bread" he said!

Here we are at the fag-end of another British Summer.
We may get a little more good weather, but we have probably had the best of it.
The summer veg has reached the point of harvest.
Who could ask for more?
Well I could, but have learnt not to be greedy!

All that has happened in the South is Rain. Rain, Rain and more to come.
If this is global warming we all need to buy thick jumpers.

I agree with you there.
That's the reason for the polytunnel build... Rain.

Funny enough....I'm thinking the same, got permission to erect one in the walled garden. Looking at a 10' x 18', waiting until later in the year may find the odd sale???

That's a good brilliant size to scratch build. I have done a few.
All you need is to buy the hoops second hand. They should come with the ground pegs.
Pop the hoops up, trench the sides. Measure the plastic oversize and through it over. Tug and bury.
And Roberts your mother's brother!

Busy as my bees at the moment.
Watering, harvesting and planting out more veg.
Looking after the ducks and chucks, half a dozen Pheasnt chicks are a new distraction.
Peafowl chicks everywhere.
Feeding the Pine Marten nightly.
Oh, did I miss out brewing and racking?
Probably hundreds of more daily chores.
Trying to earn a few sheckels on the side.
But guess what?
It all still feels like fun!
Feel free to shoot me when I say that I can no longer be arsed to do it all.
One life, live it, as the bumper stickers say..
Making the most of the currently usual and crappy British Summer, bad times are just around the corner ,everyday .

I am going to learn to scuba drive as we are now under water, most of the
roads turned into rivers yesterday and in fact my pal "Batchy" put his waders
on to go down the rubba dubb.

I chose to live on a hill.
230 metres above sea level.
I may get wet, but flooding is not too likely.

Where the road is flooded outside the pub when a bus pulls up,
the water laps over the path and we now have sand bags at the
door to stop the tsunami from washing in.
Just to mention its still pissing down that's almost 72hrs non stop.

Busy spending time trying to hoover up intelligent information on honey bees.
Almost as much shite is posted about them as there is on home distilling.
