Re: Penknives
No WG I don't do commission work for catties
. I only recently got interested in them since my Mrs started planting stuff that pigeons like to eat. I last owned one, a milbro, 60yrs ago and was in trouble often because of it
. I looked on line for a cattie and was amazed how far things have moved on in the catapult world. I'm going to hinge my new one to make it easier to carry. Pheasants are one of my fave things to eat and will not be safe anywhere near me in the future.

Re: Penknives
You know Bob, you obviously do,
My larger Swiss knife, 60mm cutting edge, the leatherma, longest blade 73mm, both less than 3". The LM does lock though.
I don't drive a car with a HK in a seat arrestor now so all is good

Gone are the days when we carry a HK rather than a pen.

Pigeons, yes used to be annoying.
An old Webley hurricane with a pre-compressed spring and a mini stock, not like your howitzer, but I can hit a tea cup at 20 meters repeatedly. If the little beggars survive that, they can come back for dinner.

I have acquired Five catapults over the years, Two home made others bought.
Amazon have a good selection from £5 upwards and ammo from Ebay, 12mm
is my preference and far more effective than any Air Gun.

Re: Penknives
Hey Mash catty rifles are very new thing for me too. Saw them online looking for catties. Did a search for trigger mechanism and ordered one. The seller lied about being a uk business and sent a different design trigger to listed item. I asked for a refund and the seller said OK and keep the trigger sent
. Long story short, he didn't want to refund but eBay resolved the problem. Seller didn't want to pay for postage back to China so I got to keep the trigger. Moral of the story is don't be a lying twat and shit won't happen

Re: Penknives
I have some spare sights. Where did you get the trigger from?

Re: Penknives
Just do a search for 'trigger mechanism' Mash there are loads on ebay or amazon. Watch a few builds on YouTube for rifle slingshot. I paid less than £7 for the trigger but check out feedback but I'm sure you know all that glitters might turn into a turd - in the post. The best ones have a small spring in the centre where I'm pointing to below
look for stainless Steel one's some are galvanised shite

You guys are gonna knock yourselves out over this aren't yer!
Great topic, since you're ramble started, I have sharpened knives, my axe, re fletched arrows, going to find some .22 pellets in the shed tomorrow, will be making a new chop board for lemons and more importantly large pink grapefruit, looking for pomelo in the shops, looking on eBay at all the boys toys you have mentioned, my wife has become concerned about the later. She has asked if the Ukrainian's need more assistance, what am I arming up for?
Please carry on, I love this site so many of you older (possible), wiser (no doubt) with great life experience. Any of you purchased ex military vehicles, that not rhetorical!
Carry on. We're buggered if we venture back to distilling, need another site eh!?

Blimey sounds like anything moving in Wales atm won't be by morning.
Happy hunting WG, my last shot was one of our local drug dealers, one
shot in the back screen of his BMW sadly left what looked like a bullet
hole. I suppose he is telling everyone that it was a 9mm auto hole and
not my catapult.

I staged this photo for you.
These friends have not been from under my drivers seat for years. They have saved me from becoming acquainted with many friends who have different beliefs and values.
I will put them back in the car.
I/we have similar values, a neighbour Ron, has similar values he has a grafting bar, he put that through the roof of a white Mercedes in the car park late one night. As the car drove away there were sparks, he had to acquire a new bar, aparantly the bar went through the floor pan as well.

It had happened before.. Yellow label yeast springs to mind.

That's a very nice axe, ideal for throwing?

This is a forestry axe I use a lot. Trimming and pickeroo. Often thought it would be quite intimidating to open the door with.

Re: Penknives
Apparently there was a change to knife laws this year. The blade length used to be 3 inches of cutting edge, now its 3 inches total blade length. Lock knives are OK if they are work related but you can't have them in the pub after your shift ends etc. Gravity knives are frowned on as are flip type. It's a very gray area now, you have to prove that you don't have nefarious intention if you carry a blade. F*** knows where I stand, I often walk around with a 6 to 8 inch razor sharp fish knife on my waist, do I have to be holding a fish in one hand now. And be careful about buying online too, if its imported it will be impounded by customs.

Re: Penknives
No, but holding a dead fish would very likely be more threatening and abhorrent to most of the younger population than the knife.
Try it Bob, advise me how many younger light weights object.

Re: Penknives
There are a huge section of the population that don't have basic life skills.
Can't light a fire, certainly can't cook on it.
But to be fair, they won't have anything cook, because they how if the shops are shut.
I have always thought, you ought to be able to fend for you & yours for a week if the grid fails.
A huge amount of people couldn't.
