I prefer cane to beat but I'm not sure if there is a marked difference between the two. I've only used beat on a few occasions when saino's were out of cane

No! I use water from cold faucet with toothpaste.
Good rinse, then the Gin tastes just fine.
The toast and Gentlemans relish (a bit fishy) or marmite does make you wipe your tongue around your gums but,generally all good. I do have fresh coffee at the same time, so maybe not so bad.

Takes me back, there was a pub/restaurant in Shrewsbury 40 years ago, they did a range of liquor coffees including London coffee, coffee, Gin, cream etc. It was £0.65 more than the others, I asked why? The bar tender told me that they had to put an extra measure in so you could taste the Gin. Also they added a spoon of sugar or the cream wouldn't float. I always insisted my dates had this.

In retrospect as I have been married 4x, probably cost me more than £0.65!

That is a cost of living/loving I suppose.

Took my late Mother & Father out for lunch in Ypres Belgium long way ,but I had just bought a Jaguar
XJR and wanted to gun it on the French Motorways.
They both enjoyed a liqueur Coffee and after two or three each after Lunch they both fell asleep B4
we got on the Motorway and awoke in the tunnel, My mum had fallen asleep in Dad's arms then he
bombed out, Lovely memories.

I think if we went door to door like that BB we could get on, get in and get up there.
In fact by the end of the road, most supporters would really need supporting ! And

Every Monday is a Bank Holiday.

Hey guys, good news, for once.
I had to shut the west wing down for the winter on Fck Hall the Gaza Stately Residence.
Cost of leccy and gas was £374 per month, horrrendosa !!
Now it has dropped to £224 !!
I sent them meter readings on last day of June.
If you have not yet done so do it today,
So the West wing is reopened and we can use the kettle now.
Of course stills have been used as per during this period as nothing must get in the way of alcoholic production.

I agree in Shropshire house (3 storey, town house), was £149 pm, became £287, down to £198, that's where my wife and I spend most of our time. It is close to our our poorly daughter.

In Wild Wild West Wales on the Coast, bigger house but not lived in a lot was £78, became/demanded £189, wife sorted that became £131, coming down to likely around £90.

Keep an eye on this....... I will.

Cost of living disaster !
Is there a sugar shortage??
Went to Costco to top up my sugar mountain and was rationed to one only five KG
bag per visit, which had gone up to £3.25. As I had three people with me, I got
four bags and went round twice so eight was my total.

Did notice when in Costcos that 15 by 1KG sugar is now £9.99 up from
£5 odd, is that right.
When I went just before srry I mean December with bro's truck. I bought
8 by 15KG slabs (am down to last three) for coppers.

I don't know how many you can buy at/in one transaction. My friend who runs an old fashioned tea shop acquires them for me. I give her £20, I receive 2 slabs. On occasion the sugar is exchanged for Whisky, rum or brandy for her baking.

With that I can do 3+ x25 washes, which takes me about 6 weeks, I am in not in a rush. I have a spirit store of approx 40x 750ml at 80+%Abv. I did not ferment or first stage distill during June due to ambient temperature. As time has gone on, I have returned to my Airstill experimenting with fresh botanicals, herbs and fruit, this appears to cost very little with some pleasant results.

The Airstill is a fantastic machine for small scale Gin production, and
one that I use all the time.
