Now then, this is one budget. - Grant plus what you were planning to spend!
Jesus!
I dread to think how hard it would be to steer a trike configured with two wheels at the front!
Anyway, I want the ability to tow a trailer sometimes, not a full time Tuk Tuk.
Thanks for the thought.

or you will struggle with hills.
My 500w machine is now in the hands of UPS, and 'In Transit'
And I need 500w, as my profile states, "The hills of Lowland Scotland".
It can be 'unlocked'/have the speed limiter disabled.
I am not expecting to catch Roadrunner with it, but will see how it performs.
Even better, a cheque for its' cost is also on route to me.
And I have £220 of grant money to spend on a trailer.
This diversion from my woes has only cost me Google and YouTube time.
So I am managing to smile through it. :)

That is excellent news... The smiling through it.

The bike and trailer will be fun. I had not thought about the steering. Its going to be sort of rear wheel steering. Cross between a fork lift and a sidecar... none of this countersteering.

I got a thing for these a few years ago. The windcheatah I fancied was steered by joystick.

Of course Jen.

Today I found this piece of crap, and it made me smile
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/KAMIKAZE-BIK ... 3461077188
Imagine it, sitting under the helmet that I bought, and flapping in the wind at 30Mph,( something like Muttley and Whacky races),
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SMART-HELMET ... 2749.l2649
Atop an old geezer flying down the road on an e-bike, towing a trailer full of mole traps.

You couldn't make this shit up!

But laughing about it, as I need to cultivate a new public image.
And stay sane.

It's a cute thouht, but I forsee people dying in RTA's before it catches on.

I understand that large, metallic, scratchy things, to F. up a vehicles paintwork are a cyclists best defence against Motor vehicles?

Hmm. I am concerned that you have been reading pedalist propaganda.

It is a slippery road to veganism. Be scared.
I think they impregnate bicycle seats 😂😂😂

E-bike arrived this evening, and is now set to go.
Without messing with it's settings, it claims 19 MPH, with the rear wheel lifted, a standard test of the motor cut out speed.
That is the top speed of the Lycra wearing boyo's, and girlies that cycle around these parts.
Long time cycle bore friend looked at it tonight, declared some parts shit, but most parts amazing.
He said it is a bargain price.
Trial ride in the morning. :)

I am sure there are settings to be messed with that will help the 19mph max.

DE-limited that should be good for 25-30mph on the flat.

I'm saving messing with settings until I have tried 'out of the box' ones.
A quick 4 mile ride today, 'cos it was cold and I forgot gloves and eye protection.
!5 Mph up our steepest local hill, and 24 Mph down it, braking all the way!
I haven't ridden a bike in over 30 years, this is going to take some getting used to. :)

This does sound like fun.

I do wonder if the lighter weight of the bike frame (as against Motorcycle) might make higher speeds quite alarming.

They are certainly not as stable Mash, or are they built to travel at these speeds.
But it is great fun. You can see the car in front ,driver looking in his mirror in
disbelief. I had dropped back so I could give it the B's, he was doing 30-35mph
and I was showing 46mph on the display.

Like Robert I have country roads ( & potholes ) to deal with.
If I could find a 30 to 40 mph kiddo on a heavier (but still push bike) build. 50 mile range. Fatter tyres and shock. I could really be tempted.

https://radpowerbikes.eu are getting there.

I love the little dinky pedals on it, like the old FS1E, In this case
has bike saddle, pedals and derailleur gears. What do you mean
Ossiffer, it's not a bicycle???
This one is not even though its the same machine with a SMALLER
motor.https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/72V-3000W-Al ... 0005.m1851
This one is a motor bike.!!
