Someone is drinking all my beer!

At the start of lockdown, I bought a LOT of Malt.
I have made a beer, once a week since.
Try as hard as I might, I can't fill all the bottles.
Someone at the other end of the line, must be emptying them.
I have re-doubled efforts, new grain deliveries, 6 days between mashes, watch this space.

Did I mention that the last distilled neutral is due a mixing and a tasting?
And the nettle neutral looks ready to strip?
Struggling for time in mid-summer is not good!

Spent an amusing 30 mins. outside tonight with a friend and his new 'Bat detector'.
He spent so much time concentrating on the gadget, which to be fair, did make bats flying towards you sound audible to human ears, that I saw more bats than he did!
Equally we seem to have proved that what we thought were mouse droppings on some of our feed bins, are actually evidence of a bat roost.
Bat shit!

You know that you are correct!
The French name for Bat is chauve souris, Hairless Mouse.
I think they look like a swallows ugly sister.

Elderflower 'champagne' is coming along nicely :D

It's interesting how different bottles from the same batch can be much more excitable than others.

It's probably just as well I'm using plastic bottles instead of the nice clip top glass ones.
Don't want another ginger beer incident! :boom:

If you're using plastic bottles and have the ability, it's a good idea to store them upside down. If you do, once turned the right way up the sediment tends to stick to the cap and leave you with a clearer champagne. It's not critical, generally when they are put it the fridge before serving the sediment is fairly stable, but can be brought up when the bottles are open.

While I appreciate the use of flocculation as an expletive, which part are you disagreeing with mash?

No expletives here.
Flocculation is the what the yeast is doing in the lid - clumping together.

Flocculation is a feature of yeast. Some do it better than others. If you bottle beer, many people like safale 04 yeast, because the yeast damn near glues itself to the bottom of the bottle and makes pouring much easier.
