Sugar talk

Hi all!

I think the subject might give a good clue. I have realised that even for 100l of wash I need lots of sugar. Where do you all get yours? I used tesco and their 5kg bags but my other half tells me that Tesco won't believe me when I say I need 20kg of sugar for making jam  every 2 weeks 😂

Will they know? Do I need to omit my clubcard and pay in cash? Sneak around Asda Tesco Lidl Sainsburys and Aldi to spread it out? Find someone who sells 25kg bags? Or is it like I suspect and no one cares 😏

I remember going into Lidl and buying 8 boxes of Cornflakes.
"What d'ya want all that lot for ducks?" said the Woman behind the till.
"I'm quackers and the wife drinks brake fluid, she can't stop!" I replied
She never said a word and probably didn't even hear me. So as BB said
they don't give a feck.
In answer to your question, Costco 25KG bags £10.50 last time I looked.
5KG £3.45 and 15x1KG £8 I think, best buy is T&L demerara 3KG £3.65.
So I go to Tesco!

Whatever works for you. The retailers dont care. "jam" always works for me.
But a good point about your club card.
I like cash and carry best. But stick with T&L - beet sugar has an aftertaste. Try it. Some can some can't 👍

I have a Bookers card so I buy 25 kg sacks...I was very lucky a few months back they were knocking 25 kg sacks out for £6...right place right time..it would have been a sin not to buy them.

The only trouble with 25Kg sacks is weighing out, being a messy git
it goes everywhere, if in a 5KG I just tip in.

10-roger on that driver.....I have to be very careful when in the kitchen using sugar, my old girl can spot a grain of it on a worktop or floor from 50 yds.
I use a large jug that is 1 kg when full or as near as it gets....

Thanks guys. I have been looking out for T&L in big bags but so far not much luck on getting that. I do have a Costco card though so will have to stop there and see what they have. Don't have a bookers one unfortunately. 25kg might be too much for my little woman spine and I can also spot a grain of sugar a mile away. It's a curse 😂

I thought that was Salt? If you spill it you have to pinch
with your Right hand and dump it over your Left shoulder.

I use Farm Foods for my sugar 2kg for £1.10.

Only been asked once by a young lad if I liked sugar in my coffee. Replied that I liked my coffee straight and it was for making Vodka !!.. How cool is that was the reply.

You need a lot of sugar for Rhubarb wine and plum jam.
That is my usual response.

😂 Definitely plum jam but strawberry a close second. Can't stand marmalade or Guinness 😷 I'm a Pilsner/no fruit peel kinda girl. You strike me as someone who likes peels and dark beer though

Broad cut Marmalade with Whiskey on Wholemeal toast, washed down with
a pint of the Guin. That would be a nice way to spend the Afternoon.
Yes I have an everything tooth. sweet, savoury whatever.
Favourite meal is.. "Sex in a Transit" with a nice bottle of red, a Pomerol
or similar would be nice.

I know Pomerol is an area in France but never had their wine. Red gives me awful headache, even after a single sip, so I don't partake. The rest also sounds quite iffy 😳

Sorry back to the wine Pomerol is a Bordeaux wine, a Merlot, if you
are not into red its not for you its very full bodied and flavoursome
I used to have a contact and bought 120 bottles (20 Cases) direct
from the vineyard ,but sadly he passed away, now it is too much
dollar over here. A good bottle about £60. So am now on my last
7 bottles of Chateauneuf du Pape need to go over again. Unsure
of the rules now but Auchan were selling their own brand C.N.D.P.
for 16 euros a bottle and last time 3 and 1 free!!
