Lets face facts.
The active posters on this site, seem to be of a certain demographic.
And sadly, mostly, male gender.
We try to appeal to all, maybe all do not find us appealing?
We are a free to view site, with a wealth of information available.
I know that we have many visitors that stop by, maybe learn what they need, and never come back.
That is fair enough.
My main reason for inputting effort here is to help new distillers stay safe.
If they do that without saying hello, again, fair enough.
But stopping to say hello is not only courteous, but can lead to other chats.
And some of these may prove helpful
Just sayin'.
Stay safe.
Robert.

Or is this mainly a hobby that appeals to mainly mature chaps and we reflect that?

Hello?!
You may have the majority but we are feisty and not to be ignored!

Historically, distilling was something that was usually done by the lady of the house. It's only since it became illegal in many places that it became more male dominated. Even so, during prohibition in the US, there were quite a few female bootleggers and moonshiners.
I like how this forum doesn't exude the same aura of toxic masculinity that other distilling sites often seem to do.

Hello
Although, I suppose saying that just confirmed the demographic?

Not really.
I just want the ladies out there to pile in, and get involved.
And I don't G,A.F, if it is a brew, or a jam recipe/experience they wish to share.
We have places to compartmentalize anything.
And if that place does not exist today. we can make it exist tomorrow.
Tell us.
I will be honest, and state that this site has not evolved in the way that I foresaw when we went through the pains of setting it up.
But, hey, that is evolution.
But we are here, and we are a friendly bunch of folk.
Trying to help.
And Jam recipies don't detract from that message in my eyes.
Robert.

Not quite
I thought Mash was quoting something, possibly Monty Pythonesque, and I had a quick hunt but found this instead!
You said you wanted posts and interaction. You just didn't specify what!

Well, now you come to mention it. What a good idea

I could register that on the car Wi-Fi.
