Sam here Gaza.....I have found that rum doesn't kick off gout when only a couple of snifters are taken at one time
I do have around 7litres of a molasses strip sitting waiting for a spirit run, but I need to strip a 45litre sugar wash tomorrow...along with smoking 3 slabs of cured bacon ready for next weekend.

I would like to say that festive eating, tops festive drinking.
But, I can't be sure!
Moderation, possibly a goal?

I have a 20 yr old bottle of Jura Whisky removed from the distillery by my own hand. Similar price to the Eldorado Rum.
Nice drop of whisky, and gives me something to strive for in my own efforts. Mind you I cant age it for 20 years, as they would be drinking it on some anniversary of my death! If I was going to live for another 20 years, then it might be worth it, but don't expect to.

I will drag my small tree in tommoz, and make minimal effort to decorate.
My pine marten has had a small tree for the last week, next to his daily egg gift.
Tommoz I will start decorting said tree.
If the video of him taking eggs on Xmas night, does not go viral, I shall feel most displeased!
It's the little things that keep you sane.

Well, Xmas day is now a bit of a blur.
It started well, with champers and smoked salmon at mine.
The generous lunch hostess hijacked the rest of my day...
I had two pints of 50% egg nog, before lunch, then a lot more fizz, then I foolishly asked for 'something'' alcoholic, given a whole bottle of wine to myself.
We played some game.
I sort of remember.
I was decanted home and tried the gifted Laphroig.
Awoke to kibble/cat biscuits all over the floor, and a sore foot.
Possibly kicked the cat, from the way he is treating me.
Headless Robin outside the cat flap, he deserved a kicking.
Today is a new day.
A whole brined salmon to smoke, some mushroom spawn to get started.
Embarrasingly for the local molecatcher, one to deal with on his own land.
Guests at mine for New Years steak pie.
Then the year settles down to same old, same old.
Oh,and Covid is still with us.
Happy New Years!
Robert.

Tick, tick and tick!
Actually managed some day to day stuff.
Roll on the new year.
I am ready for it!
