Still Smarter

So I'm on reddit only a few groups and way one group called r/prisonhooch said I should try to make a ferment pilk. Now hold on a second here I had to find out with this was. Is basically 60% pepsi and 40% milk. There is a group and everything over on there. So I put it on a poll with a few other ideas and pilk won. So looks like I'm going to be fermenting this concoction.

So for the sake of science and to see what it was like I just made a glass roughly the % of each coz I cba to measure it out.

Now it sounds grim but honestly it's not that bad of a drink. I'd not recommend drinking a lot of it but I've drank worse.

Any one else tried this or wants to try it. Any way thought I'd let u all know here in the general chat .

I know milk CAN be fermentatered but it's not as simple as sprinkling bakers yeast on it? From memory it's the lactose that's converted. Alaskcan bootleggers springs to mind.....

Personally, I would need one REALLY feckin' good reason 'why' before moving on to 'how'!

Black Cow Vodka, I got a bottle of this in the sales at the start of the year as I'd been intrigued to try in for a long time.

As we well know you can make an alcoholic drink out of almost anything edible.
But just 'cause ya donwn't mean ya godda dooes ittt !!!!!!

I am happy to ferment just about anything once.

I once tried making the hooch which is 'supposedly' popular in UK jails, do to the easy access to ingredients.
A slice of old bread, some fruit juice and a plastic bottle.
A heat source for fermentation.
Evil stuff, but if you are desparate....

Sorry I've been mia guys been busy

Mash it's me who's fermenting it I'll let u know how it goes on.

Heres what I did.

Got 2 2L bottles of pepsi emptied half out. Degassed the halfs that was left.

Next took 1L of whole milk (blue top) heated it up in a pan to 93c killed the heat then put in 25ml lemon juice in. The curds starter to separate. Put a plate over the top and left it for 20mins. Came back and strained it through one of them reusable fruit and veg bags from Tesco. Got around 730ml of whey.

Now lactose is a unfermentable sugar it's what they use to give a milk stout that creamy like feel. U can brake the lactose down in to fermentable sugars with a enzyme called lactase. I got 30 tablets of ebay for £2 they have other enzymes in but it will let u ferment that sucker most of the way. I added 1 tab in to the warm whey.

Added the whey in to 1 bottle of the pepsi then added around 60ml of a sugar syrup I made. The og here was 1.038 so not very high.

In the second bottle I just added straight up skimmed milk 700ml and the same amount of sugar syrup.

Had a yeast starter going the night before and split that between both bottles.

The one with the whey is fermenting a lot quicker and the milky one is slow. I'll be taste testing these to see how they turn out .

That, that doesn't kill you, makes you stronger.
