My NYR is to ignore her in doors or at least pretend I didn't hear her.
Anything for a quiet life

Happy New Year Guys
I’m going to get a full electric car, don’t like the look of Tesla’s so I’m thinking a BMW i4 Grand Coupe M Sport, it’ll required a 32 amp charging circuit being installed in my garage!
That will come in handy

Did you see the Tesla report that the operating range in cold weather is only 50% of what is quoted?

Yes, It uses its own power to heat the battery when its too cold.
Also cools it when its too hot. All part of its Battery Management System.
A mate of mine with a PHD in electronics has one.
He used to drive a Range Rover, and £100 per week just to get to work and back.
Now its 8Kw, of Solar panels, 12Kw of batteries, and a 1Kw Wind Turbine, and Free charging at work (A high tech company).
Costs him very little. But when you look at charging from the mains, its 10's of KWH per charge, as its a damn big battery. Even at cheap night rates, its still quite expensive at the current prices.
Me. I'm sticking to diesel. Although I should have kept my old 1984 Landrover, which would run on home made reprocessed chip oil (Methyl Esther Diesel).
Ele.

Not going Electric any time soon, simply it is not the answer. Too much dolla!
A recent report quoted the break even point at just north of 80,000 miles.
Also batteries don't last forever and they cost. That is without the fact that
you have to find a specialist for servicing. What about Range Anxiety, charge
network poor and a character less drive?
I do not say these things without trial or thought, a good mate has a new
Tesla Performance We swopped for a week, He used my Speed 12 Bentley and I
the Tesla, as we only live four doors apart it was no problem.
At the weeks end I could not wait to get my Bentley back and he did not want to
give it back!!

Here here!
The chap with the PhD in electronics, should have done a little economics too.
Richie has suggested that the 16 year old kids do extra maths to 18, but what good is an extra 4 years going to do?

You only do ten years for murder, so they say!

Another friend has a Nissan Leaf, does a 66 mile round trip to work, and in the winter often gets home with less than 6% battery left.
No problem in the summer, but lights, heater, wipers, and cold winter temperatures gives her a few anxious journeys.
Unfortunately no free charging at work for her.
As for having a PHD and understanding economics, he is well beyond that, an all round clever chap. He always wanted a Range Rover, had one, then swapped it in for the Tesla, which has been above the Artic circle in Norway in early December, and all over Europe including the alps several times.
He said it was all a matter of planning each leg of the journey based on charging stations etc.
I still prefer diesel. TBH I cant afford a Tesla or any other EV at the moment, and by the time I could, I will probably be long dead! My Age is working against me there!

Ele Diesel is the fuel of Satan and very expensive. Electric cars are a pipedream.
If we all had an electric car and plugged it in to charge over night, it would kill
the network all everyone would be walking, maybe that's the answer!
Hydrogen Power could be the answer if developed and filling stations stocked it.
Me I will stick with my trusted Bentley, maybe 11 m.p.g in town, but I love it, so
does a local Tesla owner..

Hi All
Cars ordered so no going back now, took a little longer than expected as my company wouldn’t let me have the M Sport trim, apparently sporty trims are not in keeping with the company image, so instead of a plain white M Sport model, I’ve ordered a Sunset Orange standard model
