Growing my own food, - Meat, veg. and fruit.
The odd bit of boating, basically just being afloat in some form, Kayak, canoe, inflatable or small sailboat : which can sometimes tie in with fishing, for edible species only.
Live music gigs, in small venues. I now own the music collection that I once thought impossible.
With an hour or so actively online each evening (and I don't face, tweet or anything else), mostly due to my total inability to master a qwerty keyboard using all my figers, I don't have a heap of spare time for anything else. But, I have grown into a lifestyle that does not have me working 9 to 5, and looking to fill my weekends.
Everyday is everyday, some toil, some pleasure. Not many dull moments.
When the sun shines, it is usually better.
Friday is going to be a
good day.

Friday is going to be a good day.. Absolutely.
Some days I does stuff, some days I does stuff that earns money.
Eating good food, which normally means sourcing it, growing it, or making it. Might play the banjo badly & the guitar even worse. I have a few mates reminding me that I need an FXDX Superglide. Not sure if it is really my thing - prefer big trailies.
Renewables, tinkering and a wee dog.

Nice burnout there Gaza.. what did those tyres ever do to you!?
A varied bunch of people we are. I've been on a few forums in my time and it's always nice to get a broader view of people I think.
A girl I game online with and have done for a few years turns out to be a recognised microbiologist who has published several successful papers on the treatment of female cancers over the years!
Crazy, how you think you know a person to some degree.

Pre-conceieved ideas of peope that you think you know, can indeed be a bugger.
I met Mr and Mrs Icefever a couple of years ago.
Ice in the flesh was close to what I expected.
He told me that I was totally not what he was expecting.
And that is just two of us.
Of course, the persona portrayed or projcted plays a part.
I Know that gaza is not the idiot that he pretends to be,,But I have learnt that he is fun to have around. Sometimes.
The fact that we are all here for the same prime reason is good.
The rest of the chit chat is also cool.

Thank you Ed, I take that as a sort of compliment.
Someone has to play the fool and keep 'em guessing.
But the stillin' is very serious here and I love it.

gaza,
It was a sort of compliment.
You might annoy sometimes, but I don't consider you a real fool.
Just someone with a questionable sense of humour.

Haven’t been using the stills much recently as all my DJ’s are full of Heart, 2 DJ’s of nuclear JB and my bar is well stocked with loads of alcoholic goodies. I will be having a go at making cornflake whisky in the near future, just to keep my hand in.
My other hobby is fishing, and have just taken out a membership of a club which has access to a number of local lochs. The club in the past was fly only but has decided to include bait fishing which means that I will clean up.
I woke up this morning to find a larger than normal delivery on the door step, it was my new Bradley 2 rack smoker. This bit of kit is about the size of a large microwave so should be just about right for small/medium jobs.

Yup I like simple. Hi tech is getting that high people don't understand it and when it goes wrong it takes longer to fix than a simple solution would have taken to do the job on the first place.

Makes brilliant cold smoked salmon.
You can also make your own pellets.
I feel a Bradley thread coming on....

Just back from the Loch with a nice trout and now on my way to the pub, once I come back I will do the a seasoning run on the smoker and get the trout in some Sugar and salt ready for my first run tomorrow afternoon.

I did get excited at the thought of cold smoking in the summer with this, but having downloaded and read the manual, as it doesn't have a chill facility, that is a no, no.
Shame.
I can hot smoke anytime, but restrict my cold smoking to cold weather.
Enjoy your Trout Pyro!

Oooops my bad - no it doesn't, but it was a simples mod.
I have a wooden box(tube) that I made to fit between the burner and the unit. In the box above the burner [inset] is a stainless cat bowl full of ice. Works like a calm - done buckets of salmons!!
Pictures are available at the usual rates....
Also made a pellet-press jobby.

Someone needs to get this Bradley Smoker thread going in the Food section.
Preferably with details of Mods, and pellet making thingies.
I might allow myself to be converted.
I think that I can see a way to do the pellets, and let's face it, that is how to save money on the set up, which otherwise seems to be a good price.

I have really looked at one of these. Two things I am
not sure about, electricals in the garden with our normal
summer weather and cost of the pellets. Neither of which
is a problem with my WSM. Also don't cold smoke ATM.
