Bubble bag strainers?

Hey guys, just wondering if anyone else has tried these bubble bags for straining?
I found they worked pretty well on my 100L ferment, although when i got to the bottom of the barrel the bags clogged up still.
Best way i found was to go between 2 barrels and strain in the biggest screen bags first. Then go back down through the different grades getting smaller.
Im thinking of making a column of buckets with a bag in each bucket, put mash in the top and collect from the bottom ready for the still. When a bucket clogs its just a case of emptying the bag and give it a quick rinse out.
Found these bags to be easier to work with than muslin cloth but still not perfect.

I have seen these but never been tempted to get some. Are you racking into them or just tipping everthing in?

Ive been transferring with a glass jug, need to get myself a syphon really but just working with what i got at the moment.
For the 100L id say roughly 50-60L strained off with no problems but as i got to the bottom of the barrel the sediment kicked up and slowed things down some.
Next time round i plan on doing things a little different and try not to disturb the sediment till i get right to the bottom then strain it off in the filter bags overnight. Not sure how that will go but ill report back with an update when i find out

Interesting product. What are they usually used for? Or is it a Brewing/fermenting pice of kit? What do the numbers indicate, sieve size I assume.
I some time ago was looking for something to sieve/clean up my fruit macerations.

They are originally designed for making hash but due to the different sizes in the bags they make pretty good filters.
Yes you are right the numbers represent the hole size in Microns.there are a few companies doing these bags in different sizes, so far ive found the bigger micron sizes to be the most useful, the smaller holes clog more often but once i have a system in place im hoping to iron out the faults and start using the smaller microns. We shall see
