I do not have it.

Lost it sometime.

I am 63 years old now. Dealing with younger people sometimes exhausts my mental tolerance. Do they not get it, do they not appreciate the ramifications, consequences and results of their actions and words. Fucking stupid. They are, they really are.

One of those days eh?

Please remind me of the saying, quote, about becoming older and your thoughts and attitude towards your parents. You know you thought they were stupid but as you got older your appreciated their knowledge.

Please help.

Youngsters are all fucking idiots.

I'm pretty certain common sense and self thought vanished somewhere in the late 90s! All the young people (mainly under 30) I come across appear to be self entitled, lack manners and respect and demand attention constantly! It's exhausting and frustrating in equal measure.

I'm blaming them for my grumpy old lady phase

Common sense, rarest commodity, if you can find it at all!

I don't find them selfish necessarily, they don't even have self preservation, their lack of 'preservation', care, concern and thought extends to everyone they come into contact with.

What beggars my belief is that if you 'turn it around' and apply it to them they are genuinely offended, do not realise why!!! If you explain it to them, 'oh well yer, that was because!!!' No fecking empathy at all.

I don't need an antidote or a survival guide. I will re wire wool and polish my aluminium base ball bat. I might drill a small hole and fill the bulb with epoxy and steel shot, I don't want to have to apply too much energy when I swing it. After all I am getting older. I might be able to extend Darwin theory into practice. Only natural eH?

Haha I'm surprised I survived the 90s! But, yeah I think it's a whole new language. I'm constantly in a raised eyebrow stance. Don't even get me started with the music industry kids!

Me too. Electricity, matches, bolts, joss sticks, fire, trees, motorbikes and even homebrew.

But I the other day I discovered some one who could NOT use a screwdriver.

It was probably a LH screwdriver, meant for continental roads..... I have a son in law with the same lack of obviously uncommon sense. I years ago bought him a tool box and a few essentials, you know plasters, hospital telephone numbers, electricity and water board etc. I then added a separate instruction sheet after he sheared the waste water connector from the back of a washing machine. The last time I looked the piece of paper is still there. I added a note. The paper now states..... Righty tightly, lefty loosee. & call a f****** plumber (not contactable on Dads number).

But that's education not lacking empathy. I had a Methodist upbringing. Treat others as you would wish to be treated yourself, with the exception that you treat thoughtless inconsiderate bastards accordingly, ...I believe that is the translation from Welsh.
