Cant see files ?

Hi guys
I searched but came up empty handed thus the question.
I have found a number of places in the forum where I come across this in red font:
"You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post."
Is it my low post count so far or is there something I am missing ?

Sort that out boys, we have a willing member here, or there or Canada.
I frequently have that problem and I have been posting rubbish for a few years now......l

Isn't it to do with being logged in before you are allowed to view ???

Anyone can read posts.
You have to be a member & logged in to post.
I really need to know what is being looked for to offer a deeper explanation, but the permissions set appears to be correct and we haven’t had this issue brought up previously.
When I know what the issue is, I can most likely get to the bottom of it

You know how when you take your car to the shop to have that annoying noise resolved, it inevitably STOPS making the noise as soon as the car crosses the curb into the parking lot ??
Well, I went to copy/ past the image of the missing file so @moss could dig deeper and .. you guessed it .. image is now visible. For reference it happened in 3-4 different places but this one was the one that finally made me ask the question (first post in this thread)

So, whatever it was you did in the background, Thanks - problem resolved !
Now off to figure out how to post images myself
. Do images need to be hosted on an external site like PhotoBucket, or can they be embedded directly ?

Glad all is sorted.
You can add image files directly. You need to be using the ‘full’ editor, rather than the quick editor.
Click ‘attachments’, “add files” then “place inline, and you are done.
