Well, I've seen some recipes recently, just that they all allude to using fermented veg, so would take considerably longer in prep i.e. you'd have to ferment some of the veg first, which would take a week+ first. Only then, mixing it all up to make the piccalilli

I've made this pickle before, it came out really well, much better than Branston. I like spicy food so i put a few fresh home grown chillies in too.
My tip would be to cube the vegetables very well, mine were a bit too big, you notice it especially when on a sandwich.
It was best after a few months in the cupboard, but it was ok after a month.

Your suggestion on cubing the veg is excellent. I enjoy piccalilly to, but find it annoying that they don't make a "sandwich" version, like they did with Branston pickle.
But I suspect I'll end up having a go myself.......

Yes, thank you all. Found the recipe. All good, and yes I discovered that regarding veg size too. I have cut it all up a bit smaller. I willl eat it with cheeses and pork. In sandwiches it does need to be small.
I am going to try cold roast lamb and piccililly, a variation of the Anthony Hopkins, 'Meet Joe Black', cold roast lamb and mustard recipe. Mmm. I think I might watch 'When Eight bells toll' or 'Fracture', I haven't seen them enough times yet, I cannot remember all the words "Hardly".
Thank you for the hints, 'yes you may ask'.
