Still Smarter

Well it properly made me grin yesterday to make a start .... Putting my first seeds in.

I start my chilli plants early indoors.

ED Is that you in the background shouting "off topic" ... Hang on ....

This year I had a Epiphany and I've decided to use my brewing equipment to do it.

Yes a ritchies brewing mat and the world-famous £7 ebay power controller. Works an absolute charm keeping a lovely 27° C in the propagator.

I also think it's appropriate on this new website to say a big thank you to an old friend VinoTinto. He gave me the brewing mat when I met up with him recently, As he is having to give up this hobby and move into sheltered accommodation.

Vino - these seeds are for you !! and your still plans will follow shortly in one of my next posts. As I know you would want them here.

Somebody who is likely to be along later ( you know who you are) made some chilli vodka jellies- all I will say is OMG (in caps/red/bold)

It smelt like brekkie and blew your head off at five paces, never again.

Has anyone tried fibre pots for seeds? Are they any good? At 10p a go (single use) they get my inner Scotsman worked up.

Use the Scotsman's substitute, the inner cardboard tubes from toilet and kitchen rolls.
They normally just get thrown away, and seem to fulfill the same function.

They also excellent for close quarters weed killing when a weed is close up to a valued plant, Gather the weeds leaves into the tube and spray down the tube. Leave tube in place for twenty four hours.
