Icefever calling over.........

Morning Everyone.

Last week I received a couple of emails from a very old & dear stilling friend on here...he was wondering if I was still into making the falling down liquid? I answered him that I was still around, not stilling a lot of late due to a recurring bouts of gout, after nearly 2 years of working out what was the cause, and no it's not just the Demon drink. There are a number of foods that can trigger a bout of it, another friend who had an attack was told by his doctor to drink Guinness, as this will help in a cure. After I'd finished laughing he gave me a can and I thought WTF let's give it a go....it WORKS for me anyhow....so at the moment I'm sticking to beer.
I hope to get back into still, I have all my kit in boxes, in the garage, watch this space. 8-)

Then last night I received a call from another stilling friend asking me if I'd kicked the bucket... after a chat for around 45 mins I thought that maybe it's time to re-surface and add my 2 cents to this wonderful hobby of ours....let's see how it goes?

Hey lad.
good to see you about.

Reckon you'll have a few offers if you need help to clear out your golden syrup rum, just for medical reasons of course

So good to see you active again mate.
Your experience is well worthwhile, if you find it called for.
And some here would love to know as much as you do about Rum.
Settle in, find time when you can.
We can ask no more.
Love to Mrs. Ice. :)

Mash "Competition winning abnormally "large" ?"

I wouldn't say that big but it's big enough for Marrow chutney & some left over for Marrow jam. We're big into the jam making season at the moment.

Strawberry, Bullace, Plums, Rhubarb, Blackberry.....all made over the last month or so, I've got Pears to bottle, apples to dehydrate, it's never ending.

It's all down to the amount and type of chilli you use, I've had chilli jam and it does mess with your mind, from what you are expecting taste wise and what your taste buds tell you.....if you get what I mean.

Marrow and Ginger jam is good.
Hold back on the Ginger and it is rather like Marmalade!

Could you do it with a free range courgette - you know the one that gets away!!

My courgettes often get away, one day not quite big enough, and seemingly the next day the size of a Zeppelin!
I fed three people using half of a courgette last week.
It and they were stuffed.
