bourbon chips and a maple syrup

Postby tasleBHC » Wed Mar 01, 2017 10:15 pm

well i've had the result of my distillers lifetime here.. YES, partly due to my FIRST-TIMER experience and satisfaction.
YES ive followed well taken advice..
YES ive gave my angels a really good share while my kilner was filled with 55% neutral and bourbon chunks left open covered with cheese cloth.. 7days soaking and a couple of pours of finest maple syrup and wollah!! my very first JD... no flavourings or essences added.. smelt the 43% Jack Ds that ive got on shelf and cant see why i drunk so much of it in the past..

it now smells awful in comparison

PS this is a reply in another post but thought id share it in this page for others to share their experience of mocking a JD sour mash bourbon type
I paint artistic pictures, I drink, I dig for victorian bottles...oh and i like to drink.

Well done i am sure nice to sip.
Try some JD BBQ chips and neuk in
the microwave.
1ltr kilner jar
800ml neutral
80g Jd chips
honey or vanilla or maple.
neuk once a day and seal for 3or 4 days.
Filter and bottle.
stand for a week.

Oooh! I definitely like the sound of this, especially with a tiny hint of vanilla.

Where's the best place to get the JD/bourbon chunks/chips?

edit : are they the same as the ones that B&Q sell for BBQ's?
