Thanks for that Scott, I used to suck the nectar out of those little white flowers when I was a kid, brought back memories for me mentioning that, cheers.

I am bad to the bone, ask my old mate George Thorogood, but these two posts mean that I must desist and go to bed:

I slept like a log.
Only to wear myself out today flinging Calcifert around the fields.
Too small a smallholding to merit owning, or even renting a spreader.
I am flagging tonight already.

Started another 100l of nettle wash off today. Bubbling away in my airing cupboard now. I was given a load of cornflakes minus the boxes (water damaged stock) so I boiled em up and put em in the mix. Not sure what brand they are or if they have added vits or not but hey, can't turn a freebie down. Inner scotsman making another appearance :D

Tiny marbles mate, turning to mush and being rained in as I tap.

About 5 acres of grass, but it seemed like more. It is hill though, not flat! :)

If it is prilled. You could use a back pack spreader.

Mate of mine used a manual grass seeder. It's got a spinner in the bottom. He added a bag hopper that holds 10kg

We thought about making something like that.
In the end, 'bucket and chuck it' got through 1200kg in three hours, towing the trailer around the fields.

You must have worn your legs to stumps mate, up and down dale too. No wonder you had an early night after doing that. You must be like me Robert, as fit as 10 men (9 dead and one unconscious) :D you must have been running to get that covered in 3 hours.

1200/2h is a lot. 48 bags.
Are you sure you haven't got the decimal point in the wrong place

That's a proper good dose for 2 hectares

No, two 600Kg ones. :)
Nothing added to our acid soil for 30+ years.
The soil analysist told us to go LARGE!
We actually need a little more, but next year!

Good on you Buffalobob, the cornflakes should add some flavour, how much depends on how many.
A good mix for CFW is 100g per 5ltrs crushed and boiled, or at least boiling water poured over.
So about 2kg for you to be on full recipe, are you going to pot still it?

I did think you would be able understand pH and work the math. That really is go large. I guess in some ways that is easier because of the volume you can see the application rate. You could almost rake it. :D :D

I was given 1.5 kg approx Gaza but I had two boxes of Kellogg's stashed so I mixed em all together. It was around what I normally use (720g per 25L) so I'm expecting something decent to come out of it in the end :D and yes mate, pot stilling with some backset in my thumper usually gets plenty of flavour through plus I put the lees through my diy apple press to wring everything I can out of it

Our chickens did have have an off day. My wife reported they were acting strange. They had had the grains from a brew 'on grain' mash. Oops.
They were very quiet and wondering about using their wings to steady themselves.

A friend of mine maintained that the easiest way to load pigs into a trailer was to feed them with a bucket of wheat that had absorbed a bottle of Dubonnet.

Hey Robert I wish I could have a few animals but unfortunately I only have a small patch of grass/weeds in front of my hovel. I was hoping to move out of town this year but this pandemic has kicked that into touch for this a while :( .
My dad once told me he used to feed chickens rowan berries to make them go a bit wobbly but not tried it out tho :D

I have to say I haven't repeated the experience for them. Completely forgot the grains had alcohol in, I was so used to giving them brewing grains.

I feed the chucks on trub from the bottom of fermenters, I consider it to be chucky Marmite. :)
