Passed away.
My father-in -law (and neighbour) passed away yesterday.
Very sudden, but not unexpected. He had a dodgy heart valve, inoperable as he also had thin veins and MS.
He was functional to the last and had all his "little grey cells" working as the Belgian detective would say.
He passed very rapidly in his sleep, and will be missed by many.
He was the headmaster of the local school for many years.
When my time comes I hope that I am as fortunate. Relatively mobile, still functionally independent, go to sleep and not wake up.
I will miss him.

Re: Passed away.
My condolences.
That reads like he had a life, we can't ask for more.
I too would wish to be physically active and mentally alert at MY end.
If that is quietly in my sleep, then good!
I would prefer it to be whike sipping on a drink that I had made or Hang gliding or something exciting.
Just, not long and drawn out in a sick bed.
Robert.

Re: Passed away.
Sympathies etc Myles.
We're currently sorting the F-i-L out - he went last Sunday and while expected, it's still all come at a rush (diagnosis to gone in less than 3 weeks).
I just hope whoever is "sorting the paperwork" has a better time than us. So far, 4 days of stress and frustration. But there's light at the end etc, as beloved gets to finish sorting the registrar stuff this morning.

Re: Passed away.
Very sorry to read about your sad loss Myles. At peace in your own bed isn't a bad way to go, but such a shock for his loved ones. Deepest sympathies.

Myles. My thoughts and best wishes to you and yours.
And I absolutely agree, what a nice way (of there is one) to go.

Very sorry to read this, Myles.
You only realise as you get older that life's far too short.

Greatest sympathy to both of you Myles and Phantom.

Re: Passed away.
Sorry for your loss @Miles. I have similar problems with the swinging brick and it rules your life.
I hope I am fortunate enough to go in my sleep. If you accept that we all have to go sometime or other, I would view it a blessing to pass this way.
Chin up, etc, we feel for you.

Have you tried turning it off and back on again?

Re: Passed away.
They've been dropping like flies. Myles and his F-i-L, my F-i-L 3 or 4 days after that. Then last Wednesday, my aunt.
I suppose it's part of life etc, but sorting it all out is more of a PITA than usual because of CV-19 controls etc.........

Re: Passed away.
Well, we'll only have the M-i-L to go that we'll have to sort out from immediate family - plus 1 more aunt/uncle combo..........gaza the instructor wrote: Sun Jul 12, 2020 8:16 pm The older you get the worse it seems to get Mr P.
So hopefully it'll be back to "watch this space" for a year or two...........

Re: Passed away.
My condolences and sad to hear. My father had MS from the age of 35 until he died at 70, its a shitty disease.
Hugs to you and the family.
