And your point is caller?
Are you promoting or denigrating the link?
I would sincerely expect that, and hope that you are having a laugh.
I will re-callibrate my humour parameters,
Robert.

Why do these type of stores do this??? are they hoping to clear up on casserole dishes? and bits of kitchen kit that folks may buy to give it a go?

On the plus side, I guess you could say it gets people started on the hobby.Icefever wrote: Mon Aug 24, 2020 6:36 am Why do these type of stores do this??? are they hoping to clear up on casserole dishes? and bits of kitchen kit that folks may buy to give it a go?

It was a beer kit that got me started too. Then i got interested in making wines, obviously I blame Mr C.J.J. Berry for leading me on to the slippery slope of homebrew
I wonder how many of us have bought one

Re: How to brew beer
I started with a recipe for Elderberry wine, 41 years ago.
I bottled 30 bottles of red wine vinegar.
It didn't put me off.
And I have learned a little since then.

I started with a bottle of ribena and a bag of sugar. Makes a rose wine.

Re: How to brew beer
I've just worked it out to be 52 years ago since I made my first homebrew
. Tempus fugit!!!. You must be a younger gentleman Robert, or a late starter
. I can still remember the first wine I made was rice and raisin in 1969
. My first pint in a pub was 1/9d or about 9p in todays money. My mate had just won the jackpot on a machine in the snooker hall so we chanced it the pub. I remember getting a bollocking for smelling of beer and fags from mum

Re: How to brew beer
I was forgetting scrumping a bucket of apples and 'borrowing' some bread yeast from the pantry 10 years previous.
I almost let it finish fermenting before drinking and eating it all.
But we had gone decimal before snuck into a pub.
Robert.

This site has always been populated by persons 'over a certain age.'
Maybe because we feel that we have little to lose?
Maybe because we were struggling with homebrewing and distilling pre-Google and we found our paths and methods the harder ways, and simply wish to share knowledge gained a harder way?
Robert.

Bob, squint a bit at your picture.
