Multi-forum link for ingredients/flavouring/aging/etc products.

Post by phantom »

I'm always on the hunt for good links for ingredients etc, for many of the types of booze we make (not all, as I don't do beers/ciders).

Came across this one via a FB page as another person was using the fruit concentrates with a view to whisky/brandy flavoured type stuff.

Looking through the eBay users "shop", there's a mountain of stuff that could be used for making/flavouring/sweetening/ageing etc.

I reckon the prices aren't too bad either.

Whaddya reckon ?

I’m not an expert with turbo yeasts this may be rubbish, I noticed the ingredients for the vodka and whiskey turbo yeasts on this site contained urea. I was under the impression that this was not a good adjunct if the product was to be distilled for human consumption. Can’t remember why though, just steered clear of it since reading about it years ago.

I think we have seen this chap before.

Urea in turbo yeasts, sounds like biofuel stuff. Might do some research about that.

Hum? see I was thinking of the listings for various fruit concentrates and the other flavouring ingredients etc.

But yes, he does list a fair few different turbos (which I ignored as I've just got in more vodka Star).........

And I was thinking of the concentratez, because of all those ones produced by Vintners Harvest that aren't (or don't seem to be) available here...........

Yeah me too. I thought fruit stuff offered variety we haven't seen before. I ignored the yeast too.
Windoe made an interesting observation, which will appear in my search history today.

Good spot that man. If we needed proof - Piss should not go in the fermenter. Food grade (!!!) or not.
Tbh, it's a sound reminder too that we should ashtrays read the label.

Here is the best explanation I found.
