Anyone here prepared to put their neck on the block and say that a CO detetector will sniff out Monoxide AND Dioxide?

No.
They are different gases and are detected by different processes.

You need 2 units, CO is an alarm. If you are thinking about CO2 component of IAQ you need a monitor not a detector. Our dentist has done the same.

What are you trying to do?

I have egg shells a-go-go.
Having Goggled it, I can't think of a need for Calcium Acetate.
But it is good that the knowledge of the making of it is linked here, until the interwebs die.
