So, my cat just brought in a young rabbit, one of his fav. foods.
The 'phat' sound of the cat flap gives it away.
Not dead, squeaking and running around.
I start closing doors.
Too late.
I had to catch it, in the shower room, finish it and throw it back to the cat.
He ate half, pseudo buried the rest (obviously already eaten one, not realy hungry, { have watched him eat twice the size in a sitting}), and he went out looking for more.
I guess not many folk are going to bed with the back half of a rabbit under the dining table.

No, but I started the day with a possum on the door mat.

Sadly, my cat lost his connection to his crown jewels when we trapped him, from being a feral 3 years ago.
His breeding days are past.
A shame, as he can bring down rats, weasels, rabbits and full grown hares.
He has been taught not to catch things with feathers, or at least not to bring them home.
We currently have half a dozen semi-wild pheasant chicks running around, he totally ignores them.

The teaching?
Anytime he brings in a bird to show off his prowess, I scream blue fucking murder at him, untill he exits via the cat flap.
Then I dispatch the bird, if needed.
The cat NEVER sees the bird again.
When cat finally makes a timid entry, looking for bird, he gets fuss and kanga chunks from a tin.
Tuff love, not for the squeemish.
