Stay with me.
Does anyone pour their lees, after fermentation on the compost heep? Did it help. My Brewing grains and spent hops already go in there.
I have a lot chuck poo and straw in mine that makes it very dry and slow. Just thinking it might be an idea to speed it up and wet it.
I know yeast lees make a huge difference to the septic tank so just though it might be worth a trial.??

Never thought of that.
Also does it improve the septic tank?

Re: Compost
Spent hops, dumped around the place, are most definitely ignored by all free range birds.
I suspect that the very properties that make them useful for preserving beer, make them distasteful?
Spent mashing grain is better used to feed to chucks, even more apppreciated by pigs.
Spent lees?
Well, they may eat any sugar in your septic tank, but not really the microbes that are needed to break down your jobbies, unless you have diabetes!
Robert.

Re: Compost
I am not dipping my hydrometer in there, but I reckon, there would enough to entertain them.
Been having a quick Google and yeast is considered and sold as both a tank and a compost activator.
My next brew is defo going on the compost.
