I'm so sorry I've not been chatting with you like I used to. It has been a crap few months but I have not forgotten about you and I'll check in whenever I can.
Also feel guilt, ...no not quite the correct description, haven't posted for a while.
Trying to form a relatable perspective on my eldest daughter's terminal cancer. Distracted by being given an old Still Spirits Super Reflux Still (now perhaps 15/20 years old), believe me such a welcome distraction. Have posted on the Australian Custom copper still components site, seeking advice on how to use the bloody thing. Have been in contact with distillers who had or have one.
No need for anyone to feel guilty about anything. It is good to value and miss the value of human interaction, the only important worthwhile expenditure of time, of life, perhaps.
Mrs M is pulling through now & we also have a daughter in law (30 something) who, because of a "no.. that's a sist it will disappear' diagnosis, has spend most of this year and some of next on chemo. With surgery and radiotherapy to follow.
Don't you dare feel guilty about anything.
Pm your number if you want a chat.
... And get that bloody still running, you deserve a drink
I've had a poor old time lately, but am feeling a little better. Even did a Beer Brew yesterday (Timothy Taylors Landlord clone), and am thinking of a Barley wine next.
So I must be feeling a little better.
Chin up to those with issues, life is like that.
My Gran used to say "When the Devil Slams the door in your face, the Lord always leaves a little window open"
Now I'm not a religious type, but I still think about what she used to say, as there is common sense in there, and above all it gives you HOPE, without which I think many would give up.
So never give up, even if you end up a grumpy, belligerent old git like me!

There’s a lot of this illness going around at the minute.
As long as you keep waking up in the morning, just have to keep on keeping on….
Indeed. A colleague is currently sorting out his surgery for a kidney with a malignant tumour.
Bless him, he's always been a grumpy git (he's aware and thinks it's amusing). He was off t&d last week so we're waiting to hear if he's got it sorted or what's next etc.
I know it's more common than we realise, but it does seem weird as we all seem to hear of more cases when someone we know/a relative or partner has had a diagnosis.
Hope all those affected are ok and do well with the treatment (a neighbour is currently getting chemo ATM) - as I understand it's not pleasant........
