What's on your Christmas present list.

Post by Mash »

That time of year is here, where we all drop hints about a new toy or new bit of kit.

What's yours?

Already got my pressy before the prices go up.
Stainless fermenter and chiller unit.
If I had thought it through, I could have saved a bit more with a Black Friday offer on the chiller :-(

Interesting Video. I would probably consider the "Not from Concentrate" from Lidl as mentioned on this very forum. (it made a reasonable / drinkable wine)
Also perhaps would do the woodchips at a higher ABV too.
Other than that, it sounds about par for course.

@Gazza, keep us posted if you do this.

One of mine has arrived today.

A presentation pack of "ketchup". Except bollocks to tomato, this has a chipotle ketchup, a sprout ketchup and a cranberry ketchup.

All from "the sauce shop" (Google applies)...........

After a disastrous business trip to that London last week, where my rucksack was stolen by a bastard, a new iPad is on my list.
Have you tried turning it off and back on again?

Cracking video. Raisins on the gin basket. Doh. Brilliant idea.

I think this ought to another thread. Anyone else having a go?

I agree with thoughts on not from concentrate, but four litres of this was £5 and total cost £11ish, so if it does make three bottles
of drinkable at under £4 a go it will be good.
Also final age and conditioning adding chopped raisins and a little grape juice.

Also wanted to mention, two other vids by different bods using exact same recipe, but
for a few minor details. That makes me think this might be okay.
This is the last on the list for me, because grapes and juice so costly in the UK.

A stainless steel wand with air stone and a 20L/min aeration pump. So I can further better my spirit production.

And some batteries for my SS digital temp gauge on my Reflux Still.

And 20+ bottles of the SS Dry Gin Essence
And 10+ bottles of the SS ElderflowbGin Essence.
And 5+ box's of the SS Tennessee Bourbon Essence.

And 500g fresh Juniper Berries.
And 100g fresh coriander seeds
And 50g orris root.

And a new SS Gin Profile Kit, with refills.

Does any one need my address for postage?

I want three score and ten for my eldest daughter. She is suffering with cancer.

He. God, will have to explain that when we meet..

I would swop any of my remaining years with her. Now. This instance. I doubt he has a justification.

Yes. That is top of my list.

If this message escapes our planet, the either sorrounding us, and reaches the decision maker. Good. Let's have the conversation, I do not question your existence, just your motivation.

We have had quite a year of it. First my wife had breast cancer and then our daughter in law. She was on chemo for most of the year, until they operated lay week.

If its any consolation I don't think the DM (decision maker) had anything to do with it. Instead, my view is the human race hasn't looked after its home very well and is now paying the price.

Mash, I will add your family to my prayers.

My eldest daughter, approx 36 years old, with two little boys, 9 and 11 years old has stage 4 bowel cancer. She has been in Basingstoke hospital for 5 weeks, with her mum, my wife staying with her. After the mother of surgeries, 14 hours, 4 teams working to give her a life, she hopefully with my wife will be home for Christmas.

I pray every night. The Gin keeps the black dog away. There is always hope and a reason to look to the future.

I do not question there is a God, just his decisions and motivation.

I wish your family will pervade and survive as mine are.

I have improved my aeration process. Currently trialling this "air washing" theory...

Spirit run*
Dilute (key change)
Aerate
Run again*
Done.

*Always SHUTDOWN (collect nothing ) after 30%on the refractometer.

Tends to make a lovely smooth sweet spirit.
