Ambient Temperature. Degrees C or F.
It is becoming warmer for a few days/weeks.
Turbo washes will fail and require a 'restart' yeast addition.
Don't waste your time, give fermentation using these products a miss.
My personal experience is that consistent ambient/air temperatures above 21/22 deg C may well cause a stall in fermentation if using certain turbo yeast products. The fermentation itself will lead to an increase in 'bucket temperature' towards 30deg C, that is +8 deg C, this will stall a turbo fermentation.
Don't want anyone to waste time and money........Being Welsh.

Restart yeast packs do work, however, they, from my experience do not work, may fail again if the ambient temperature remains above 21/22 deg C. My local brew shop sells them for ยฃ1.75 each.

A fermentation fridge is the answer....or stand the bucket in a bowl, cover it with an old t-shirt, fill the bowl with cold water making sure the shirt is wet...like we did in the old days.

Unusual I know, but I have been waiting months for a heatwave to test my new chiller idea.....now it might be here in the UK

Bread & red wine yeast are both good for 30c (max) and will result in a quicker fermentation times.
Beer & white wine yeasts do need temp control to get the best flavour profiling.
Turbo yeasts do need to be left at the checkout for best performance. Waste of time and money ime.

Appreciate your spirited replies.
Some of us are 'lightweight, flyby's' compared to you.
I enjoy my spirit and did not want any light like minded individual to damage theirs.
I piss in the woods like the pope and am a bear so I am catholic.
Let's all enjoy our warm weekend without any failed fermentations. Love you all.

OK ok vodka star is probably, maybe, perhaps, the exception.
But bread Yeast really did come up with the goods and it really isn't that slow.

Re: Ambient Temperature. Degrees C or F.
Bread yeast is 100% the best and cheapest tool for the job. One thing first timers to
using Bread Yeast must remember you must add a balance of good nutrient, you also
need to keep the temps around 30C. With VS its all in the packet, just add stir and
wait for the fireworks.
So maybe we should recap on good nutrients for Bread Yeast.
Boiled Raisins finely chopped.
Tomato Paste.
Lentils.
Whats that horrid green stuff that tastes like shit called Mash.

Gaza, what a wonderful re-cap. As 'turbo's' fail me at this temp, I am off to Sainsbury's early. Well not early for me, but early for them.

And to add, I have put a request in for Alcotec Vodka Star on my Fatheers Day list.
Same question, does it clear on its own, sufficiently for putting in a SRS/T500, or do you add, do something else?
You are taking me to a different 'Church' here, not my usual chapel, I don't know the hymns, I can't use 'my Dark Brown Voice', please advise.

Re: Ambient Temperature. Degrees C or F.
Please bare in mind that i am in no rush, I normally do five 25ltr ferments at a time.
So there is always plenty of neutral finished and ready to play with.
I use a mix of lentils, tommi paste and Alinsons yeast. When finished, I unplug any
heaters and just leave it for a week or so and it becomes nearly as ckear as tap
water. So the whole thing could take 4 or 5 weeks, but not a problem when you sit
on 30ltrs FNS.
It produces a lovely product with 5KG of T&L and cheap too, although sugar is like gold
ATM.
I do use a T500 sometimes, but over the years I have bought and built five stills and its
nothing unusual for me to use three or four at a time for stripping runs.

It does clear, it is smoother, makes a better gin base.. But it is a wee bit slower. Perhaps. So just adjust your stockWelshGin wrote: Sat Jun 10, 2023 9:33 pm And to add, I have put a request in for Alcotec Vodka Star on my Fatheers Day list.

Mash I am in a rush, not. Don't like lifting 25ltr fermenters about, its easier
to syphon than lift. With the spare time I watch Cricket and drink G&T.

Yes not a pleasant smell, slightly worse than Kale Wash, but it is a turbo,
so the yeast of Satan and powered by CAP or something similar. It does
however make a reasonable product, but not for me Gunger Din.
