"Pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and start all over again."
So, after working on a malt whisky for a couple of weeks, tonight I managed to accidentally break a carbouy containing 11 litres of 63% new spirit.
Did I swear, yes!
Did it take an age to clean up, yes!
But I got up from my knees with a positive attitude.
It must be age that is helping me chill out?
So, another sack of diistlling malt to be ordered.
And go again.
Robert.

Some years ago we were turned out to leaking tanker. We approached it in full chem suits and breathing apparatus.... Only to be told 10 mins later it was scotch!

Dearly beloved. We are gathered here to day in remembrance of Easydrinker single malts short but beautiful life.
It's a story of what could have been, so much love and care went in to the making of this single malt that it's a tragedy that it's short life got snuffed out before reaching its full potential.
I live in hope of it's siblings will bring you much enjoyment in years to come.
Cheers!

There remains a short, final run result, of about 4 Litres, so all is not lost.
It has also Fwcked up my fake flooring, about 4 sq metres now needs replacing.
I am left feeling like a well humbled tosser
When I lose the ability to laugh at myself, please feel free to shoot me down or hang mr out to dry
Robert.

problem is, that carboys, DJ's, etc may be the most suitable containers to use, but that doesn't mean that they're made of good quality materials.
Mashes comment re: stainless is valid, except those sort of containers are often prohibitively expensive.........
personally, haven't had any break on me recently. Last time it was a 1 gallon DJ..........

They are more expensive but they last forever - but have you seen the price of DJ's now.phantom wrote: Sat Aug 31, 2019 9:26 am problem is, that carboys, DJ's, etc may be the most suitable containers to use, but that doesn't mean that they're made of good quality materials.

That said I do think DJ's are better made than larger carboys.

Should I be soft enough to lay on the floor and fuss the once feral cat, I can smell it.
But yes, the offending article was a cheapy, and not Borosilicate.
Which is now more costly than SS, unless you can provide a link?
Robert.

So I joined the club
I had 2 1/2 litres of GTI bitter orange gin in a flip lid storage jar and because of the not great seal decided to stir instead of shake. BANG an hole in the side 2 litres all over my work bench tools and in the draw sticky mess.
All this after deciding to degas a 120l sugar wash that had finished 2 days earlier with my paint stirer connected to a drill and on full power. A mop, hosepipe, brush and an hour later all good.
I've got 1/2 litre of the gin left and it's tasting nice already might not make day 5.

Don't drink glass shards mate.
IMO owning up to your shameful incidents buys you a little exoneration.
It still makes us dicks!
