That was that funny powder stuff? I remember it always being under the sink when I was wee but don't remember it ever being used!

With guilty feelings, I am about to turf the cat from the bed.
There is plenty of space, but he has not yet worked it out.

Memory Lane;
Arguing with the lady in the sweetshop as to why I could not buy a single Fruit Salad or Black Jack, (each, individually wrapped, FFS!) which were four a penny, two a ha'pence.
I was born just a few years too late for Farthings to be legal tender.
As the nice lady explained.
My first lesson in economics.
Robert.

Re: Where I am today
Hi Everyone
Used my thumper today. I've not bothered with all grain for a while got fed up with squeezing the grain to get enough liquid to make it worth while.
I had 25kg of flaked barley which I had left from last year converted with enzymes in a 120 litre barrel not to convinced on my SG always difficult to get an accurate reading but think around the 1.06 mark.
Started with 50 litres of clear off the top in my 55 litre boiler and 55 litres of grains in my larger boiler. I only have a 3 KW heater so 7 hours later I have 15 litre of 40% low wines no squeezing required I'm more than happy.
Lee
If someone could straighten the picture I'd be grateful

Re: Where I am today
You leave me confused.
You started with 25 kg flaked barley, which becomes 55 litres grains?
But 600 units of alcohol to the sack is commenadable, just don't drink the feints!
Sorry,can't tilt yer picture.
Hold yer phone the right way up next time.
Robert.

My recent trip to Portugal was decent enough, but I have now discovered Marrakech is super cheap in Jan/Feb and drinking is fine as long as not in the street. Has anyone been there?
