Just a little sad

Post by Easydrinker »

That this site did not take off over the UK lockdown.
I guess that folk found other stuff to do, I can't knock that.
I have irons in many fires.

There is a loyal fan base and new ones joining.
I think maybe WE could think of some interesting
topic to be disgust, that might draw them out the
woodwork and get fingers talking.
I am trying ED but a limited brain capacity holds
me back.

There have been quite a lot of new members since lockdown began, some more active than others.
Even if they're just reading, the forum is still of benefit 🤷
I'm sure that the regular contributors will continue and others will join in when they feel inclined :)

The thing about forums is that you can't force people to post. I try to add comment where I have some valid input, but I'm happy to read when I can etc......

Just looked at the stats there have been 41 people on here in last 5 mins, which is ,nt bad .The majority of people just look and rarely talk like me ,I have,nt made many posts over several years but I do value other peoples posts especialy for new ideas ,and basic skills to make better ,different booze.
A good example of this is that yellow label yeast which is still travelling from china

Since inception, this site has had many daily visits.
Few choose to register.
But hey, that is OK.

Forum type sites have lost traffic since the rise of the mediocre Facebook.

FB gives them both easier access to the world but that also extrapolates to poor quality information in many cases as it's so much easier to push nonsense and/or inaccurate information i.e. peeps think it's a 1 stop shop.......

I'd guess the casual visitors are those who follow that it's not quite as easy as it seems.....

I don't do Facebook or any of them, mind you it has been suggested
because they all talk in fluent effluent as well. For those that don't
know what that means, it's a load of sh@t !!

I rarely post (same on any Forum/Social Media), but frequently browse and learned so much from this site.
When I first of all joined I found this site to be the most friendliest, welcoming and comprehensive regarding the craft of distilling. Pardon my french but this was the only site that didn't baffle me with bullsh#t.
Not posted here for a while now, but still reading and learning and appreciate all of you who do post invaluable information.
Thank you.
