Back to the OP....When I ordered the boiler 4 weeks back, I asked for a 2" tri-clamp for the element fitting instead of the screw type, so I needed to source a 3kw element tri-clamp.

Now I'm always a bit iffy about buying from China, you do hear & read about stuff going missing but I found this element on the Ailexpress site...
It arrived within 6 days, and I must admit it does look like the dogs doodars.. well made, I went for the whole set gasket, spare ferrule, clamp & terminal cover, all for 19 quid.

The lid & bottom are both 3mm SS, the side is 1mm. The boiler can also be used on an induction hob if needed, false bottom if you want to mash beer, the company make both brewing & stilling equipment, along with cheese-making & smoking.

I'm just having a cuppa and going to wire up the element and make sure the boiler is clean, fill her with yesterdays strip, set up the column with a section of SPP, then all I have to do is is tomorrow morning switch on for the virgin run.

I'm sat here in the garage, just cut the deflag back a smidgin,....and it's just run away with me from a second.....got ya. It started with a fast drip, don't want that as you guys know....so opened the valve a little and that's got it to a drip drip, just what I want.

Just checked with the hydro...93.5 maybe 94....that'll do me, Tommy...

Ice that is more than adequate mate, 94% means you have full
control buddy, so situation normal.
BTW Mash ok?? Well he wasn't before! Or as the old joke goes,
"will I be able to play the piano after? Because I couldn't before".

I was happy with the run yesterday, having 3kw to play with, was a big difference from the 2kw in the T5. The bubble ball filled and sat like that until near the end.
