I may be 75 in a couple of months but the old grey matter is still watching out for this kind of crap.

Yes, I always check Email addresses, and websites.
Also remember that the email address can be hidden by a false one on top its like where you would show your name in an email address, they use that space to put the Email address you would expect to see.
eg:
A correct Email address is like "Natalie from Klarstein <news@reply.klarstein.co.uk>" Where the Email address shows "Natalie from Klarstein"
and the real address is "news@reply.klarstein.co.uk" (Obviously without the """ bits)
What they do is replace the Name Portion "Natalie from Klarsten" with "Rebate@Ofgem.co.uk" or whatever.
Its why you always thoroughly check email addresses, and website addresses.
Probably trying to teach grannie to suck eggs, but its useful for those that are not aware.

Mmm. Just discussed with my beautiful bountiful wife our monthly energy bill (combined).
She informed me that she had received an email informing her the DD would increase from £196 to £525. Bless her she called them after some time they admitted an error in the calculation of our previous usage, then agreeing to £223 per month. My wife listened to the the drivvle and came to the conclusion she would call back the following day.
She did, and explained she was concerned that EDF would use the difference to claim from the Government the reduction in costs between the email and settlement figure. They were very reactive. Now our figure is £187 held until March 2024. My wife wasn't satisfied with that, she requested and received an email stating they would re-evaluate this should energy prices decrease during this period.
What a load of BBB********, are these Bastard companies attempting to rob us through our tax? How does Liz establish what each of these leaches should be reimbursed?....???
