I got the Grainfather and GF30 fermenter.
Brewuk is a better deal ATM, and with a GF 30 fermenter is a good deal. Also BrewUK will give you a 23L beer grain kit thrown in as well. Just put with Grain kit (beer kit of grains etc) in the notes when ordering, as its not very clear what to do.
They work very well together, as I can alter the temperature from the house, so I don't have to go out in the cold and dark.
Big advantage is not having to unseal the fermenter to take readings, less possibility of bacterial infections etc.

I also built some Ispindels WiFi Tilt hydrometer, which report the Temp and SG. Needs a WiFi Access point close to the fermenters in same room, as the fermenters are steel, but it works well. I have some spare Ispindels if you are interested, PM me if you are interested.
Using the Grainfather App, as with the GF fermenter you get it free (use).

The chiller has 4 outlets, and can run 4 fermenters. There are hacks (simple ones) to run a non GF fermenter with the chiller, using a Inkbird, a few dos and don'ts etc though with the voltages to watch for. But you woiuld need a WiFi inkbird or similat ro remote control it.

OK it wasn't cheap, but I threw some money at it, as at my age I cant take it with me, Also with the current economic situation the prices will go up soon.

Got my St Austell Tribute clone on the go, 50L for Xmas and its all going well.

Going to have a go at Myles Rum as the wife has almost cleared me out of the last stuff I made her!

Let me know if you want any other info.

BTW.. You can make a chiller out of an old Aircon unit for a lot less money if you have the talent for home construction.
Plenty of videos and ideas on the net.

OK cards on the table time.
I have a bonkers idea...

A ss coil piped to 25L tub of water in a fridge, inkbird controls a small submersible pump.

Based on the fact it is
a) very cheap to trial
b) only do a couple of ferments in the height of summer.
c) the fridge was already there.

Thoughts?

This is the coil

Very pleased with the quality. And it fits wide mouth fermenters.

This is the pipe.9mm id.

Deal: Silicone Tube, Length 5 Meter 9mm ID x 13mm OD, Wall Thickness 2mm, Flexible Silicone Hose, Water Hose Pipe for Pump Transfer for Laser Engraving Machine https://amzn.eu/d/aSIGw3i

Just waiting for a couple of bits & time to have a play.

Personally with cold water in the coil, I would use a copper coil instead. Better thermal transfer than stainless.

Absolutely 1m% agree. I have a huge, double copper cool for chilling.
30litres from 95c > 20c in about 6/8 mins. Unfortunately this was still too slow.

I chose stainless for this fermentation coil, because it is not reactivate. It just needs to keep fermentation temps in check. Nice coil for the money.

Do you think my idea will work?
25l reservoir @5°c.
Inkbird controlled pump, maintaining a 20°c beer ferment of 23l?
