Came across this distilling youtuber last week, making some very creative beverages and making me laugh a lot.
Most distilling chaps on the tube are Aussies, Kiwis or yanks... nice to have a down to earth Englishman. I guess he could well be a member on here.
The channel has around 70 vids already ...

Oh bobbins ...
Charged the boiler with 20L low wines, set the needle valve to one drip a second to remove the heads. Came back 40 mins later to it pissing out and the pint collection vessel overflowing , the shed floorboards soaked. I think I just emptied ALL the alc onto the floor.

Love watching some of the distilling channels on the tube.
Whilst there is some right old crap, I think some of it is brilliant.
Jesse distilling scotlands national drink ... Iron Brew the other week made me larf !
Highly recommend using "New pipe" for watching youtube.

Oh crap.. Now you have given me ideas !!... I run my stove on 95% still junk.
I may just wash it out and fill it full of the good stuff.
If I'm not using it to cook with .. may as well drink it.

Re: Concentrated drinks for Hiking Trails
I do have a reflux still so I can make high neutral.. I also have a pot still attachment but have only used it on stripping runs thus far.
Problem with the concentrates is that I have yet to find one I like .. and the instructions say leave for 24hrs.
I do enjoy a whiskey and I love my spiced rums.

Concentrated drinks for Hiking Trails
I love walking and I've been thinking about hiking and wild camping along a few of our longer 2-3 day trails. Obviously weight is a major issue when carrying everything on your back. So my thoughts turned to concentrated drinks I could carry with me at 95% and dilute with filtered water from streams ...

Yes, you can regulate the flame from fierce to simmer. It can boil 1L in just over 3mins on full chat.

Re: How do you use your foreshots?
I bought a small cheap camping stove, it can run on alcohol. or pretty much anything .. petrol, diesel, paraffin, turps
Its nice to use it the stuff rather than disposing of it.

I bought some Juniper berries off fleabay, and they are semi dried ... like dryed and wrinkly on the outside but fairly soft on the inside and sticky.
Is this how they normally are ?

Aye, twas suppin some earlier. Tastes like a nice clean vodka.... Now I need to convert it to something else. The wife is interested in making a Gin botanical basket of her liking to dangle in the pot still. I also picked up a bag of JD smoking oaks chips to soak.

A few years back I failed to make a neutral I was happy with, I got bored with distilling and went off to do other things. The product was hot and kinda burnt my nose. Last month I figured I have another crack at.

The plan is currently to strip another batch next week and then do a spirit run on my LM still.
On my last attempts a few years back, I failed to make a neutral I was happy with that boka still.
Despite everything coming out at 95%, I got a burning sensation on my nose sniffin the product.
